As a member of the Winter 2016 Y Combinator class, we’re proud to announce that Sendbird has made the Y Combinator Top Companies List for 2021

How is the Y Combinator Top Companies List calculated?

Y Combinator sorts the 100 companies on this list by valuation as of January 2021, including companies that have been acquired or gone public. They choose to rank companies by valuation as it’s “the most commonly available metric to compare companies in the startup world”.

Congratulations to our peers on this list – it’s an honor to share this recognition with so many companies we admire.

Where did Sendbird rank on the 2021 list?

SendBird ranks at No. 51 on the Y Combinator Top Companies List for 2021.

We’re excited by this achievement and are optimistic about the future. Major factors that contributed to our growth so far include:

  • Closing a $102 million Series B round in 2019
  • 120 million monthly active users using Sendbird to stay connected
  • Major customers such as Reddit, Delivery Hero, and Carousell

A huge thanks goes out to the people of Sendbird, our customers and our investors for believing in our mission to digitize human interactions for businesses.

And while we’re proud of this recognition, we’re not done yet. We’re focused on shipping in-demand product features our customers will love, and our team is growing fast (we’re hiring!). We’re confident this is just the beginning of an exciting journey ahead.
